Our Bankruptcy Proccess

  • 1. Free Consultation

We start with a free, confidential meeting to review your financial situation. Jack will help you understand your options, determine whether bankruptcy is right for you, and explain the difference between Chapter 7 and Chapter 13.

No pressure. No judgment. Just answers.

  • 2. Gather Your Financial Documents

To prepare your case, Jack will help you collect the paperwork you’ll need, including:

    • Recent pay stubs or proof of income
    • Tax returns
    • Bank statements
    • A list of debts and creditors
    • Asset and property information
    • Monthly living expenses

You don’t have to figure it out alone—Jack’s team will walk you through it.

  • 3. File Your Bankruptcy Petition

Jack will prepare and file your bankruptcy petition with the court. As soon as it’s filed, the automatic stay goes into effect—stopping all collections, garnishments, foreclosures, and lawsuits.

This is often the moment our clients feel their first real sense of relief.

  • 4. Attend the 341 Meeting of Creditors

About 30 days after filing, you’ll attend a short meeting with a bankruptcy trustee. This isn’t court—it’s a chance to confirm the information in your case. Jack will be right there with you.

Most of the time, creditors don’t even show up.

  • 5. Complete the Required Education Courses

The court requires two brief courses:

    • Credit Counseling – Before filing (online or by phone)
    • Debtor Education – After filing, before discharge

These courses are inexpensive, easy to complete, and help you better manage your finances moving forward.

  • 6. Recieve Your Bankruptcy Discharge

    Once all requirements are met:

    • Chapter 7 cases usually take 3–4 months
    • Chapter 13 cases last 3–5 years, with a monthly repayment plan

At the end, your eligible debts are wiped clean—and you can move forward with a fresh start.

  • 7. Rebuild & Move Forward

Jack won’t leave you hanging after the paperwork is done. You’ll get guidance on:

    • Rebuilding credit
    • Monitoring your credit report
    • Avoiding predatory lenders
    • Creating a budget that works

The goal isn’t just to get you out of debt—it’s to keep you out.
